Maya Santoro

Maya is a biologist, passionate photographer, and environmental educator who has dedicated her career to global conservation for more than 12 years. Her work spans multiple continents: rescuing native big cats in South Africa, protecting endangered primates in Brazil, and serving as an ambassador for leading conservation organizations, including WWF, Only One, and Sea Shepherd Brazil.

For nearly a decade, Maysa has specialized in wildlife expeditions, guiding and educating travelers on expeditions to some of the most remote and pristine ecosystems on Earth. Her field experience includes Antarctica, South Georgia, Svalbard, the Northwest Passage in the Arctic, Greenland, the Galápagos Islands, Madagascar, Pantagonia, the Amazon Rainforest, and many others.

Wildlife Expeditions

Maya leads and hosts wildlife expeditions to some of the most remote and biodiverse places on Earth. She works across both land and sea tracking migrations, exploring wild habitats, and diving alongside ocean giants in search of unforgettable encounters.

Her work is shaped by real, hands-on experience.

“I’ve spent the past 12 years traveling almost nonstop, often solo, scouting and exploring these places on my own. Over time, I realised that what matters most is sharing these moments with like-minded people. There’s nothing quite like standing in the same landscape and feeling that same emotion, like the pure joy of watching a humpback whale breach right in front of you.”
